Getting started
Thanks for joining us this year. This newsletter will briefly introduce you to everything you need to know to be successful in this year's challenge. We will send out the newsletters every Monday, but if you ever have questions or need anything, don't hesitate to let us know. All of this information can always be found on our website by clicking HERE!
The concept behind this challenge is to “find your balance.” Using a model of wellness, which incorporates social, intellectual, physical, spiritual, emotional, financial, and occupational wellness; look for areas in your life that could use more balance. Use the challenge to improve on these areas. Please keep in mind that this challenge is for you and you only! The idea is small sustainable changes. Even if you make changes to improve just one area of wellness you have succeeded. At the end of the challenge prizes will be awarded to individuals that complete the challenge!
POINTS AND SCORECARDS
Ready to start earning points? You will need to track healthy habits that are worth a designated point value. The tracking log can help you log your healthy habits. This sheet does not need to be turned in.

However, you will still need to submit your points online each week. In the weekly newsletters there will be a link to the scorecard or they can be found on the Healthy Hornet Challenge web-page. That scorecard will be due the following day (Tuesdays) at noon.
Remember – honesty is always the best policy – we use an honor system, and cheating on the challenge is cheating yourself and your fellow ESU community members!

Challenge KICKOFF Night
Stop by the Student Recreation Center on Monday, January 27 between 6:00PM-8:00PM, for our Know Your Numbers Fitness Assessment Night. During this event Student Personal Trainers will administer personalized blood pressure, cardiovascular fitness, muscular fitness, flexibility and body composition testing. Participants will also receive bonus points for attending the Kick Off Night!
Throughout the two hours, we will also have 15 minute fitness class sampling to give you an opportunity to try something new as well as check out multiple classes offered throughout the week. The class schedule can be found below.

Why take a fitness test?
The activities featured during this fitness test are provided as a way for you to get an estimate of your level of aerobic fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and your body composition. The results on each test provide you with a measure from which you can track your progress in each area as you become more physically active.
